Don Matthews is the principal of Crosswind Consulting. He has over 30 years of experience as a decorated fighter pilot, manager, teacher and leader in aerospace and defence - gained from his international experience in the areas of aviation, training and information technology.
Don advises clients in the assessment of business processes, developing strategic business plans and implementation processes that make sense whether scaling back or growing.
Don has helped businesses implement technological advances in a way that optimizes personal commitment to a vision that everyone understands. Don is also an entrepreneur, being a part owner of a successful dot com aviation business. He understands both the benefits and the challenges of the digital world, from websites to the most advanced on line training.
Don understands the hallways of Ottawa and the processes and relationships required to gather information, make your case and remain a partner of the federal, provincial continuum.
Don’s experience extends to the volunteer sector where he has provided leadership and commitment in all facets of not for profit organizations. He understands that good stewardship is expected and needs sound financial management to implement effective revenue generation for the complete solution.
Don has worked at both ends of the organizational spectrum and believes that servant leadership is successful in any organization.
His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts (Economics and Commerce) from the Royal Military College, graduate of the Canadian Forces College in Toronto, an Associate in Theology from Thorneloe University as well as numerous career aviation certificates.
